The resolution pas'sed at the AgentsGeneral meeting on March 17 to suggest to their Premiers that the Australian States should advance a claim for representation at the Imperial Conference, with a -view to the recognition of constitutional rights by the admission of State Premiers or their nominees at the lffll conference, sto that Vhe States may be represented in the' discussion on such questions as the appointment of State Governors, immigration, and other matters upon which the Commonwealth representatives have no right to speak for the States, was moved by Mr. M'Coll, Agent-General for Tasmania. Mr. Coghlan, Agent-General for New South Wales, i opposed the resolution on the ground that the matter was outside the Agents' province.
