DAMAGES AGAINST A FARMER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmierston North, Las't Night. Mrs Huberts recovered special uamagea of £8 10s and general damages of £2O, with costs, from Thos. Duncan, of Otaire Station, Hunterville, at the Magistrate's Court for injuries incurred by being knocked into a mud hole by defendant's bullock, which was' straying on the roadside at Rongotea, near de fendant's fattening farm at Glen Oroua. A SERIOUS CHARGE. Invercargill, Last Night. John Archibald McKay, who lias bee* manager of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Bluff branch, was remanded on a charge of having forged the name of T. Cooper on the wages sheet of the company. Detective Cameron said it wag likely there would be two more charges, one of forgery and the other of theft.
