Ilay, who took his de. gree at Olago University, has been appointed house surgeon and assistant medical otlxer at Rotorua sanatorium.— .Press wire. A London ca'ile intimates that His Majesty Xing Edward took a motor ride yesterdav after spending a week indoors owing to the cold he contracted at Biarritz. A London correspondent states that Mr. E. L. F. Norman, of Now Plymouth, who went to England in December with his eleven-year-old son after eighteen years' ha'vl work on the land, is enjoying a holiday at Cliesham, Bucks. Major Waine, who brought the first official New South Wales team to the Dominion some fifteen years ago, is touring with the present Australian eleven, and was a spectator at the match yesterday. He is accompanied by Mrs. Waine and the Misses Waine. Word has been received that Dr. W. R. Parkinson (son of Mr. W. A. Parkinson, of Hawera) has been offered and has accepted a post as house surgeon at St. Thomas' Hospital, London. It is one of the positions usually given to the most successful graduates of their year. A Press wire from Auckland states that the Rev. Gray Dixon, minister of St. David's Presbyterian Church. Auckland, has received a call to the Presbyterian Church at Palmerston North, rendered vacant by the Rev. I. Jolly having accepted a call from St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Auckland. Mr. Andrew Mack, the well - known comedian, who visited Wellington some ' time ago, was divorced in New York a i few weeks ago. His real name was ' given as William A. McAloon. Mrs. I, McAloon named Kate Humphrey, who ' appeared as Mr. Mack's leading lady 'under the name of May Stevenson, as " co-respondent. The New York Times ' states that the respondent denied the allegations in the complaint, but offered no testimony in contradicting them. Mrs. McAloon was given custody of the onlv issue of the marriage, a son born in 1880.
