Two hundred strikers at a paper factory at Clichy, France, hmiriated by the refusal of fifty comrades, chiefly women and girls, to cease work, lay in ■wait until dark, and then fired a volley of revolver shots into the non-strikers, who took refuge in a cafe, which the strikers bom'oarded with revolvers and 6tones, until the police arrived. Several women and two policemen were wounded. The assailants extinguished the street Lamps, and thereby escaped. Women were chiellv responsible for the attack, and treated the non-strikers with savage violence. A series of similar murderous attacks were made upon non-strikers in various provincial districts during the week.
