THE BEAUFORT AFFAIR. CORONER'S FINDING. ByCa'bl*.—Pro** Association. —Copyright Received March 20, 5 p.M. Melbourne, March 20. In connection with the Beaufort railway disaster, the Coroner found that the accident was primarily due to the unskilfulness and carelessness of Driver Coward, or to an error in his' manipulation of the brakes' and that if Fitter Fewster had done his duty faithfully the accident would not have occurred, and Drivers G v onn and Coward, instead of insisting on the fitter doing his duty, had taken the risk of running the engine as it was. Contributory causes were the failure to properly repair the engine and the lorig period of fourteen hours during which Coward was on duty.
