STRATFORD DAY BY DAY.
(From Our Resident Correspondent.) Stratford, March 18. I regret to hear of the death or Mr» Everiss, which occurred to-night. Deceased, who was a> daughter of Mr J. Masters, of Stratford, underwent an j operation last Wednesday, but little ' hopes were entertained of hor recovery. A husband and one child are left to mourn their loss. The motor car opens up big possibilities in Jlie holiday time of covering a large expanse of country in a limited period. Yesterday a party oi Stratford residents left in a car for a trip round the Mountain. Proceeding south they went to Manaia, via Kaponga, thence to Opunake along the coast to New Plymouth, where they spent a couple of hours, and then home. The first meeting of the newly, elected Hospital and Charitahle Aid Board will be held on April 1. Mr and Mrs R. H. Robinson leave by this evening's train on a trip Home. I hear that negotiations are under way for the purchase of a property in a central position with the ujjccc oj'_ building a large store. Four rinks from me Inglewood Bowling Club visited Stratford yesterday and were deieated by 106 to 83. Three rinks from St. John's Club (Wanganui) will visit Stratford on the 26th inst. Miss Blanche Robinson, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Robinson, of Stratford, was married yesterday to Mr James Montgomerie, of Stratford. Mr Eyre Kenny. S.M., was unable to be present at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court to-day, with the result that the business was adjourned until April 1. / It is rumoured that another firm intends holding stock sales in Stratford.
