USE OF PLATES PROHIBITED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyrig'.u Melbourne, March 15. The Victorian Racing Club has decided, owing to the number of horses injured through being galloped upon by those shod with plates, to prohibit the use of plates at Flemington. TARANAKI METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. The Taranaki Metropolitan Committee met last night, Mr H. B. Lepper in t'.ie chair. The programme for the Egmont Racing Club's Winter meeting was pa»?cd. Disqualification was removed from th racehorse Pohi Tito. Jockey's license was granted to R. J. Kelly and a trainer's licence to D. Duthie. Three gen tlemen rider's licenses were also grant ed. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. The T.J.C, Committee met iinmei''ately after, when one new member was elected and accounts amounting to £lOl were passed for payment. The Course Committee reported tint the improvements to the racing track were now being carried out. i
