FIRE IN LONDON.
WHITELEY'S STORES DAMAGED. SERIOUS CALAMITY THREATENED. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright London, March 14. An outbreak of fire occurred at Wliiteley's Stores in Westbourne Grove. Customers and 4000 assistants were removed without confusion. A dozen firemen were overcome by smoke and taken to the hospital. One department was destroyed. 'J.lie fire was confined to this department by closing the iron doors, thus preventing a serious calamity. The damage was small.
