AMUSEMENTS.
HEWITTS PICTURES. The management of the aDove popular pictures' introduced a change ot films at the Theatre Royal last evening. The programme was interesting from start to finish. Nothing .better could be seen than the. picture entitled "Fools of Fate." This introduces a romantic and tragic tale of the wild west, the acting being perfect, and the scenery in which the plot is set sup«rb. "Napoleon and the Duke d'Enghien' 'is another interesting subject. The dressing and military effects are particularly good. A picture that illustrates "Broncho Breaking in the Argentine" is lull of thrilling incident, the buck jumping scene being highly exciting. Many other interesting subjects' were subjoined. Mr Chris. Reeves received a good hearing with - his vocal numbers. On Saturday night a comic song contest will be held, when a substantial prize will be given for the winner. Entries close at 9 o'clock on Friday morning.
