The newspaper Englishman ' appealed agftypst.the damages of £IOOO awarded Lajpat Rai, editor of the Bapde Jto.-ue-ram, for a statement in the Englishman that he was deported for tampering with the loyalty of Sepoys. The Court reduced the amount to 1500 rupees.
