BOWLING.
NEW PLYMOUTH v. INGLEWOOD Yesterday there was a large attendance at the New Plymouth green. Four rinks from Inglewood played a similar number of the town club, thus leaving three rinks vacant for other players, so that one outside rink, after playing fifteen head#, left it for others. The match against Tnglewood was a good one. as teams were selected on the town side ■to make the game as equal as possible, although they were good rinks. For the first half of the game New Plymouth were well ahead, but Tnglewood after mastering the strength of the green, forged ahead little by little, till they won the game by the narrow marwin of one point. At the conclusion of the game Mr. A. G. Collins, vice-presi-dent of the town club, congratulated the. winners on their victory, as they had played a real good game. When t.hev met again the tables might be turned. He called for three cheers for the Inglewood team. Mr. Pereival, president of the Tnglewood Club, responded thanking the New Plymouth bowlers for the pleasant game, made doubly so by the fact of their win. He recognised that they had not the strongest teams against them, but they always appreciated the hospitality they received from New Plymouth bowlers.
