At the quarterly meeting of t.hn Pahiatua Licensing Committee to-dav, an application from M. 0 ; Dow<l for the transfer- of the Kumeroa Hotel license to him was withdrawn. The police report on the Herbertville Hotel was leV over till the annual meeting. This hotel was lately burned flown, and an appl' cation for a temporary license was granted under stringent conditions to providing accommodation for travellers within ten days, and also as to prompt steps being taken to rebuild the hotel.
