(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, March 10. Mr G. Burgess, who is employed by Mr X. King, met with a painful accident on Tuesday. He was working at a circular saw when a piece of wood Hew up, striking him on the side oi the head. A lengthy gash was inilicte i, which required the insertion of several stitches.

The five-vear-old daughter of Milne, of Stratford, had a thigh broken on Tuesday through a meat safe falling on her.

Nominations for representatives of the County Council and Borough on the Stratford Hospital and Charitable Aid Board closed to-day. Messrs W. 6. Kennedy, ft. A. Marehant, E. Marlell, D. Maxwell were elected to .repress® the County. For the Borough Messrs H. Cameron, P. F. Ralfe and S. A. Ward were nominated, and as only two members are required an election will be held on the 10th inst. Nominations for representatives for the Whangamomona Countv close to-morrow. The Stratford County had five representatives on the Board. Only four have been nominated. and the remaining representative will be appointed by the Governor-in-Couneil. The Autumn Show of the Horticultural Society is being held to-div. There are large entries, and the quality of the exhibits throughout are excellent.
