♦ SWIMMING SPORTS AT THE BATHS. Probably the most successful swimming sports meeting ever held in the municipal baths eventuated last night. There was a splendid attendance, the "fields" were large, and the racing interesting to a degree, most of the finishes being decided almost on touches. There was not a single wait during the evening, every event starting promptly to time, an innovation on which the* officials are to be warmly congratulated. Messrs. H. Stocker and A. R. Standish officiated as judges, and Mr. Lints acted as starter and jußge"a the diving. Mr. A. Mynott as call steward kept the ball rolling. Results:— 150 yds Handicap. An exhibition game of water polo between the East" End (the champions) and a combined team irom the West End and Beach was won by East End by 2 goals to 0, Turnbull shooting both goals from over halfway.
