In the House of Commons, speaking in the debate on the Army and Navy Estimates, Mr. Haldane stated that the Government was organising a pronautical corps on the German pattern. The p?'esent deficiency of horses was 120=000. The Imperial (general Staff scheme was being developed, and General G. W. Nicholson was receiving weekly communications with regard to organisation. He hoped Lord Kitchener's visit to Australasia would bear practical fruit, and announced that Major-General Sir G. A. French was going on a similar mission to Canada.
