TARANAKI V. AUCKLAND. Owing to the Misses Dickie being unable to go to Auckland for the Tara-miki-Aucklahd match on Saturday, only four Indies will be included in the team, namely, Miss Powdrell, Mrs Payne, Miss Brewster, and Miss Simpson. The six men selected to represent this province are J. C. Nicholson, &. unihths, A. Powdrell, S. Powdrell, Sellar and X. Caplen. Owing to several of the original team not being available, it has been found necessary to select another team to play ['or Auckland. It is as follows: Men's Singles— Dr Keith, 'l'. &. Grigson, Dr Smith, A. ¥. Billing, E. Hicks'on, A. S. C. Brown. Ladies' Singles. Misses Gray, G. Gorric, P. Gorrie, Cooper, Cooke, dimming. Ladies' Doubles.—Misses Gray and G. Gorrie, Misses P. Gorrie and Cooper, Misses' Cooke and Cumming. Oombined Doubles.—Br Keith, and Miss Gray. Grigson and Miss G. Gorris, Dr Smith and Miss Cooke, Hickson and Miss P. Gorrie, A. S. Brown and Miss' Cooper, Billing and Miss Cumming. Men's Doubles.—Dr Smith and Hickson, Dr Keith and A. S. Brown, Grigson and Billing. The New Zealand Herald remarks that owirig to the difficulty of arranging for playe°rs for this fixture, the question of the advisability of continuing them will probably lie discussed with the Taranaki Association in the near future.
