Mrs. Clark, teacher of the Pohokura school, has forwarded her resignation to the Education Board. Mr, Justice Edwards arrived by last Bight's express for the New Plymouth Supreme Court sessions, which commence to-day. A cable from London states that Mr. Charles, Schitska has been appointed examiner for the Trinity College of 'Music In Xew Zealand. Mr. W. H. Hawkins, formerly chief warder at the New Plymouth prison, and now occupying a similar position in Auckland, is on a visit to New Plymouth Miss M. Blanchett, who has been invalided for some time as the result of an inju*y to her spine, has so far recovered "that her medical adviser has permitted her to take a lengthy holway in the country. Her many friends will be delighted to hear the news. . At the last elections, says a cable from London,' Sir John Bingham, having 'accepted a Barony, resigned the presidency of the Divorce Division of the High Court. Justice Sir Samuel Evans, Solicitor-General, succeeds him, and Mr. ,Rufus Isaac, K.C.. hecomes SolicitorCeneraL • Mr. Victor Fitzherbeft, who lias left Sor Australia, there to enter the ranks of the theatrical profession, was made the recipient of a presentation by the local amateurs prior to his departure. Mr. Fitaherbe't was of invaluable assistance to the New Plymouth amateurs, and Ms stagV management and knowledge of detail will he much missed in any future performances.
