SWIMMING.
The sports to be held by the New Plymouth Club to-morrow night at the local 'baths promise to be a grwit success, as excellent entries have been received for every event. Thp watej- polo match, East End against Combined Beach and West, should prove an interesting game, for both sides arc very 'anxious to win. The committee have wisely, in making out the programme, fixed a time for starting each event and heat. A bell 'will be rung one minute before the scheduled time, and any intending competitor not at the post exactly on time will be ineligible to start in the particular event. The times of starting are advertised clsewfiere in this issue. Mrs. R. Nicholas, of the (Jrosvenor Hotel, lias very -geifrronsly donated to the club a handsome gold medal to be competed the meeting. This donation is muc , Triipp vt><> ' i, ' t ' l ' *he foersi of tffo cluTi. It lias been decided to allot it as the first prize for the 150 yds handicap, the first event on the programme, which starts punctually at 8 o'clock.
