An action brougiu m the Court of Sessions at Edinburgh last December by Alexander Wentworth Macdonald Bosville againsr Lord Macdonald of Sleat, seeking a decision that his grandfather. -born on September 12, 1800, was legitimate, per subsequent matrimonii™, was dismissed as far as the relationship was concerned, but the parties were allowed a proof on the question of legitimacy. 1 Lord Macdonald has now withdrawn his opposition to the proofs of Bosville's legitimacy, but the case requires formal proof for the satisfaction of the Court. According to the statement of claim, the claimant's great-grandfather eloped with Miss' La Coast, an illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Gloucester, ainfmarried her at the British Embassy in Paris. A son and daughter were bora. Subsequently Lady Macdonald insisted on being regularly married in England. A second son was afterwards bom, and the claim was then raised •that the second marriage deprived the two elder children of the advantage .oi being born in wedlock. Mr. Bosville made no claim to the Scottish estates of the family or the Irish peerage; only to have the legitimacy of his grandfather established.
