WEST COAST COAL.
INSUFFICIENT STEAMERS. By Telegraph. —Press' Association. Westport, Last Night. The bins at the coal mines at the Westport, Westport-Stockton and Seddonville mines and the State and railway yards are full or almost full of coal, with orders in, abundance, but there are practically 110 boats available to take the coal away. The State mine is idle to-day, and it is expected to be idle -to-morrow. The impression prevails here that the failure to send sufficient colliers to •Westoprt is intended to create the old false impression that New Zealand mines cannot supply the demands of the Dominion and so divert tlie trade again to Newcastle. Vigorous efforts, it is stated, are likely to RTmade to induce the (Toveramen't tolake up of coal.
