CONFERENCE AT DUNEDIN. SOME PERTINENT RESOLUTIONS. By Telegraph.—Pres* Association. Dunedin, Last Night. ■ The Society for the Promotion of the Health of Women and Children continued its conference to-day. The following resolutions were passed:—That aomething practical in the direction of more general extension of the benefits of tie systematic care of infants inaugurated by the Society be attempted, .by offering to help and co-operate with .the general hospital authorities in regard to the care of babies inside and outside sucll institutions; that the Government be approached with a view of rendering illegal the sale of patent foods sold as babies' food which have not the percentage of sugar, fat and proteid (or flesh-forming material) marked on the outside; that those persons who are responsible lor the placing and upbringing of children boarded out by the State be iiuerested as much as is possible m ■ the methods advocated by this Society; .that persons having the care of boardedout infants and young children in their ■homes be instructed as to the proper feeding oT same. "A letter was received from Mrs. Bkir (president of uie V.M.C.A.). asking the ,co-operation of the Society with a view o't bringing into force the recent Act of Parliament whereby women may be •elected on charitable aid and school boards. The conference declared themselves as being quite in sympathy with the suggestions.
