Mr. Join Burns gave a sympathetic •reply to a deputation urging the selection o'i the unemployed with an aptitude for agricultural work, training them, and after a successful trial settling them 1 and their families for two ,year 3 on small holdings connected with a labor colony. Br. Paton, of Nottingham, the originator the deputation, sugesfion that portion of the development fund be applied to the establishment of a colony. Lord Carrington considered it important, if men with agricultural experience were drifting" to towns, to enable them to return to the country.
