The Hon. J. Carroll leaves Auckland for Rotorua this morning. A Pres's cablegram received last night states that King Edward starts on Monday for Paris, where he will stay two days, afterwards going on to Biarritz. An Auckland message informs us that the Prime Minister leaves this morning for Cambridge, where he will attend the agricultural show. He may afterwards visit Te Aroha and Rotorua. Sir Joseph Ward is due back in Wellington on the 10th instant. From Auckland he will travel via tlie East Coast, calling in at Gisborne. where /Lady Ward is to open a new maternity home early next week. | Mr. C. C. Graham, at one time Stii pendiary Magistrate at Dunedin, will 1 temporarily carry out the duties of J Stipendiary Magistrate In the WairaIrapa, Mr. Turton, S.M., having resigned , to enter upon private practice. | Mr. W. A. Sandilands', one of the ( oldest solicitors in Feilding, an ex- : Mayer, while, cycling in Manchesterstreet on Saturday night, collided with j another cyclist. He was picked up un- | conscious, and died at 7 o'clock oh i Tuesday night, without recovering con- • sciousness. Deceased was' a native or Victoria, and had been in practice in ! the Manawatu district for twenty-five years. He had large interests in town and country'; and served on local bodies, the jockey club, and other institutions. He was a fine skip as a bowler. The late Mr. Sandilands was ilifty-two yaars old, and leaves a wluow, three daugiite-rs, and + wo sons.
