Dr, Newman "has definitely decided not to seek re-election as Mayor 01 Wellington. Archdeacon Cole was a passenger to New Plymouth by the Rarawa yesterday morning. He intends remaining in the district for a few days.

A wire from Hawera announces the death of Mr. Richard E. Meßae, aged 04, Deceased was bom at Nelson, and resided in South Taranaki for thirty-five years'. He was a well-known judge of horses at shows, and formerly owned a number of racehorses and thoroughbred stallions.
