(By "Splodge.") The final fixture between the East End and the Beach ended in another win for the Beach in the relay race and another win for the East End in the polo match. The relay race was a very easy win for tlie Beach, although the flying starts I ol the East Enders made the race more 'interesting. • " ■ I In tlie polo match the East Enders [ai'OW Jirst blood, and were leading by 12 goals (sliot by Turnbull and Chamberlinj to 1 (shot by Brown) in the first 'spell. 11l the second spell Brown s'hot ia second goal folf Beach, and some very [close play ensued till on the call iof time Cliamberlin got -. n & 01le > [which gave the victory to EasJ End by 3 to 2. Mr, Morris refereed satis'«!V torily. This win in the _polo matcli gives East End an unbeaten record for the year. Beach win the relay race competition, having been as .yet unbeaten. The last fixture to be decided is' West v. Beach, which cannot affect, the result', The mile championship of the New Plymouth Club for the cup presented by Mr. James Smith is to be swum on Ist March (Tuesday week). Besides this event a boys' race and a 50yds handicap will be swum on the same night. On Tuesday, Bth March, the club is to hold another night sports meeting. On Thursday afternoon, 24th instant, the Stratford Club are having a sports meeting at which several New Plymouth swimmers will compete, while the next Thursday, 3rd March, sports are being held at Inglewood, when New Plymouth will be well represented.
