At Philadelphia a strike crowd dynamited several cars and attempted to lynch a driver on a lamp post. Mounted police charged and cut the rope. One man was killed and a hundred injured. Six hundred strikers are demanding a sympathetic strike by all labor unions in the city, involving 100,000 men. Hundreds of people are going to business on roller skates. Many are using waggons, in which two shillings is charged for standing room. Both sides declare they will fight to a finish.
