STRATFORD NOTES.

Stratford, February 23.
The Stratford cadets left by a speciil train this morning for Wellington to attend the military encampment. Mr. J. L. Raoineon, son of Mr. R. H, Robinson, of Stratford, has received word that ho has passed his B.A. ex-i'ti-ination. Mr. Robinson, who is studying for the Ministry, will proceed to the Knox Theological College at Dunedin to complete his studies. The Pollards, who staged "Mis.= ■' of Holland' last night at the Town Ha*!, had a very good house.
The quarterly meeting of the Druids .Lodge was held last night, when Bid. S. King was installed as district president.
, Mr. W. A. Hewitt, of Stratford, has been appointed judge of grain and seeds at the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Show. The W.Y.M.I. Lawn Tennis Club are playing a match with Inglewood to-mor-row.
A wrestling match between Scott and Bain, who was Hackenschmidt's wrestling partner, has been arranged to take place on March Bth at Stratford. Local bowlers are taking great in'-;r-..est in the F>llham tournament. So far 1 Stratford, especially the rink "skipped" by Mr. Sangeter, has been doing wry well ,and hopes are entertained of the ! championship coming this way.
