Mr. and Mrs. Blundell were pasitngers to Auckland last' night by the s>. Earawa. A London cablegram reports the deaTh of Mr. A. F. Walter, late principal proprietor of the Times newspaper. Cable advice has been received that Mr. 11. H. Quilliam. of Nelson College, has passed the first section of the B.A. and L.L.B. degrees. Mr. .las. Morey, oij Moroy and Son, and Mr. G. Eamson, manager of Sargood, Son and Ewen's local branch, leave Auckland by the P. and 0. steamer Mongolia on the IG'th March on a visit to the Old Country. Miss Clarice Buckman, of New Plymouth, appears in the title rota oi "Miss liook of Holland," to be produced by Mr. Pollara's opera company in the .Theatre Royal to-night. Wlien tills young lady entered the theatrical pvo•feesion it was predicted that she would .soon climb the ladder of success. Tiiis .opinion was also expressed by Mr. Fred •Duval, the company's business representative, when here on his last visit, an.] .her place in to-night's caste confirms it.
