LIFE SAVED BY A BUTTON.

NARROW ESCAPE FROM DEATH. By Telegraph. —Press' Association. Auckland. last Night, A boy named Raymond Jbbertson had a very narrow escape from sudden death at Epsom yesterday afternoon. A young friend of his was showing him an ild pistol of his father's, and young Ibbertson, holding the firearm with the muzzle towards him, tried the trigger. The pistol was loaded. The bullet, passing through the centre of the boy's hand, struck a button on the breast of his coat, glanced off, and passed through the upper part of his arm. Dr. Williams attended the boy. whose wounds, though not dangerous, gave him a v*ry bad shock. His life was saved by a coat button.
