Relf was bowled by a very shortpitched ball, which he tried to pull. 1 OllifT, the next batsman, was out 1.b.w., after scoring 8. Sale followed, but onlv made 4 when he was clean-bowled by a fairly smart yorker from Whitty. 57 —5—4. Hadden went to the wickets just in time to se Anthony bowled by Emery with a full toss. 57 —6—21. Brooke-Smith, the incoming batsman, saw only three balls before Emery knocked his leg stump down with a ball which came in from the off, though delivered with a leg-break. 57—7—0. Taylor joined Hadden, and the pair made the only stand of the day, scoring 50 before separated, Taylor being clean-bowled by Kelleway. 107—8—1 G. Howden, the' next batsman, made 1, and then skied a bail from Armstrong to Bardsley. 113—9—4. Robinson, the last man, scored a .single with a Flukey stroke, and was then stumped by Dodds off Kelleway. The innings closed for 155. Australia won by an innings and 123 runs. : The Waitara Club will be represented by the following in their match against Rovers on Thursday:—Skelton (2), Thomas, Wilson (2), Fuller, Eggleston, George, Sarten, Spence, .hidge.
