The wheat and flour » t totals 3,305,000 quarters, for Jontinent 1,700,000 quarters, and e Atlantic shipments 133,000 quarters. The total shipments to Europe amount to 1,340,000 quarters, including 332,000 quarters from Argentine and Uruguay. ' HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph.—Press' Association. Wellington, February 21. The High Commissioner's weekly report, dated February 19th, is as follows: Mutton.—Tihe market is firm, but the demand only moderate. The stocks' in hand are light. Canterbury is extremely scarce, and cannot be quoted. North Island is averaging 3%d. River Plate mutton is in small supply, but is firmly held at 3y 2 d. Australian is freely offered at 3y B d. Lamb. —The lamb market is steady, with a good demand for prime quality. The average price of the new season's Canterbury lamb is 5%d nominal. A large proportion of second quality lamb arrived recently. Prices are: New Zealand lamb (other than Canterbury) ranges from 5%d to 4y 2 d, Australian is firmer at 4d. Beef.—The market is quiet but steady. The supplies of American chilled beef are large. Prices' are unchanged from fast week's quotations. New Zealand ninds are quoted at 3y 4 d, fores 2 7 / B d. Butter.—The market is a shade weaker, but there is more demand at present. Quotations: Choicest New Zealand butter 118s, Danish 1255, Australian and Argentine, 115s. The butter and cheese shipments ex Athenic arrived in good condition. Cheese. —The market is firm. The price of finest New Zealand white is 60s, colored 59s;' Canadian is making 2s' more. Hemp.—The market is quiet, with a tendency in favor of buyers. Prices: On spot, New Zealand good fair grade £26 10s, fair grade £25 10s; Manila fair current £2O; February-April shipment, good fair £25 15s, fair £25, Manila £24 10s. The Manila output for the week was 20,000 bales. Cocksfoot.—There is no alteration in the cocksfoot seed market since last week. New Zealand 745. Oats. —The market continues dull. New Zealand sparrowbills, ex granary, per quarter of 3841b 19s; New Zealand Danish, 3201b 17s 6d. Peas. —The market is steady at last quotations. Partridge, per 5041b 555. Beans.—The market is l firm, with an improved demand at 40s 6d per 5041b, f.a.q, old crop. Kauri gum.—The market is firm, but the demand only moderate at last quotations. Wool. —Tops are firm at the following Bradford quotations:—Thirty-sixes low crossbreds 14d, forties low cross'breds forty-fours medium crossbreds 17d, fifties half-breds 20V s d, merinos 17d, fifties half-breds 20y,d. fifty-sixes quarterbreds 23d, sixties' merinos 27d. DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS. Messrs. J. B. MacEwan and Co. report, the following: —■ Butter.—The total of shipments from the opening of the dairy season, September Ist, is 12,100 tons, as compared 'with 10,108 for the same period last season, an increase of 20 per cent. It is anticpated that this increase will not 'be continued, but weather conditions will have a big influence. Cheese.—Tihe total of shipments from the opening of the dairy season, Sepem- '■ ber Ist, is 12.282 tons, as compared with 0704 for the same period last season, I an increase of 2fi per cent. Latest cables from the British markets' advise that best New 'Zealand brands are selling at 5Ss to 50s. Conditions are favorable and prices are still likely to advance. | \ j
