News from Noumea, the capital of New CaleuonW, states that the ketch St. Joseph was recruiting'at the ! island of Voa when the natives ambushed and shot down five of 'her 'native crew. Three men were fatally sliot and two were severely injured.
A report from Ambym, in the New Hebrides 1 , states that cannibalism is again being practised. Recently, aft Qr the funeral of a chief, his wives were butchered and eaten.
