A plot in favor of ex-President Castro has been discovered in Venezuela. Many arrests were made.
(Ex-President Castro, who had misruled Venezuela for nine years, left in the winter of 1908 for Europe for his health's sake. Taking advantage of his absence General Gomez assumed the Presidential chair in December, 1908.)
