WAITARA v. FITZROY. Waitara Tennis Club sent a team io Fitzroy yesterday, when a very enjoyable and very evenly contested match was played, the home club winning by 115 points to 95. An extraordinary meeting of members of the Fitzroy Tennis Club was held at the clubhouse last evening, and a resolution was carried unanimouslv, upon the motion of Messrs Beadle and A. Ambury, senr., that no Sunday play be allowed on the courts. (Loud and prolonged applause). The Fitzroy and Waitara B teams were VoTiave -met at Waitara yesterday, but the match had to be postponed until next Thursday. At the New Plymouth Tennis Club's courts on Wednesday the final of the m'-ii's handicap singles was played n*tween E. AY. Griffiths (scr.) and J. C. Nicholson (owe 20). Nicholson won the game of Sirup by 21 points.
