RIFLE SHOOTING.
GUARDS' CHAMPION BELT. The Guards fired the last of th-ir fonr shoots for the company's championship belt on Thursday last, the ranges being UOOj'ds and 1000 yds, ten .shots at each range. This .shoot also counts as a handicap shoot for Mr. Messenger's gold medal. The champion belt was won !>v Private Grover with a grand total of 337, Private Xieholls 'being runner-up with 3-28. Mr. Messenger's medal waa won by Private with the \erj creditable score of 80. Following are the results of Thursday's competitions:
