Melbourne, February 11.

It is reported that the Railway-De-partment has suspended, pending the official inquiry, a locomotive foreman and a litter at one of the stations on the Stawell line. The Trades Hall carried a motion viewing with alarm the increasing number of railway accidents, and condemning the policy of the Railway Commissioners. whose desire, it is alleged, was to show a profit. This, it said, lad to an underinanning of the service.
