In the "Magistrate's Court to-day Phil Brady, alias McDonald, was sentenced to three- months' imprisonment for obtaining £2 from a local jeweller on wliom he had worked off a sporting edition of the confidence trick, representing himself as a jockey able to putt his unsuspecting victim on to some good thingt- at Christchurcii races last week.
