ROBBED AND MURDERED.
A FRENCH SENSATION. ATTEMPT AT LYNCHING. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received February 8, 9.30 p.m. Paris, February 8. Thain, the cashier at the Lille branch of the Bank of France j called at a fashionable private house to receive 4000 francs. He was robbed and murdered, the body being afterwards discovered in the garret of the house. Ontoine Favier, the owner of the house, absconded with GOOO francs. The Lille townsfolk tried to lynch Madame Favier, who was arrested. Mounted police rescued her.
