A SUSPECT ARRESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Carterton, Saturday. A man" named John Walker, a stranger in Carterton, was arrested at two o'clock this morning . He had enter.-d JVlr. Deller's house in Tyne street. The inmates were arouseu, and sent for the police, who found the man in the garden. He had his boots off. He was brought up at the Court this morning and remanded till February 12. A DESERTER. Dunedin, Last Night. Thomas Dicks, who deserted from H.M.S. Encounter on "August 10, was remanded ?o appear in Auckland on the 14th inst.
