RAILWAY REVENUE.
♦ A SATISFACTORY POSITION. By Telegraph.—Presw Association. AAYllinntoii. Saturday. The Hon. J. A. in a statement to a press representative, said that the railway revenue for the four weeks ended January S was decidedly satisfactory. The revenue showed an increase of £22.000 compared with o\9 corresponding period last year, while the revenue for the year to dale indicated that the railways are i'ISO.O'W net better off than last year at this period. The revenue had increased by .£273,000. and to earn that large increase they had only had to increase the expenditure by £S.">,OOO. The Minister intends to hold a conference on .Vu'iuluy with the district managers to discuss (he question of train services generally.
