The discussion adjournal till to-morrow. The 'bishops were empowered to appoint some person or pci>oiis to compile a new history of the Church in Xew Zealand, This was done on the motion of the Kev. Sedgwick, who pointed out that t.he leaders of the Church possessing knowledge relating to the early life of the Church in the dominion were slowly 'passing away, and the personal knowledge of those remaining should be obtained before it was too late. PROPOSED TAEAXAKI DIOCESE. 'Wellington. Last Xiglit. At the Anglican Synod to-night it was decided that there is no necessity for a fchan'ge in the boundaries of the North Tsland diocese, but that the erection of a new diocese of Taranaki, to comprise generally the territory within the provincial district of Taranaki, is urgent.
