A carriage wae Hung across the station platform and overturned, seven people being killed., including n nun who was standing on the platform, and twenty injured. COURSE OF THE DOOMED CARRIAGE HEROIC EFFORTS. Received January 31, 10.30 p.m. London, January 31. The seven deaths were instantaneous. The coach jumped in the air, ascending a slope on the down platform and destroying a signal post, a large water crane, and twenty feet of paling between the platform and the main line. The carriage next somersaulted on to tlie permanent way. t The officials and uninjured passengers made heroic efforts to succour the injured and imprisoned passengers. There was no panic.
