Sir Edward Grey, in a speech at Hexham, declared that the elections' showed there would .be a British majority for Liberalism, while the Conservative and Tar id' Reform party would be dependent on the Irish for any chance of ejecting the Government. Cabinet's deHsion last summer assured that Great "Britain in March, 1912, would have sixteen new ships of a finer and stronger type than if ordered earlier, and equalling in number those in the Earl of Cawdor's programme. THE HOUSE OF LORDS. A COMPROMISE BEING DISCUSSED. Received 2S, 11.5 p.m. London, January 28. The Times, the Post and the Telegraph are discussing a compromise on the question of the House of Lords.
