Snow and heav\ rains prevail. The Parisians are alarmed over tin flooding of the underground railways. Three lines have ceased running owing to sections being submerged. There i? a danger that the river will reach the level o'f the s'ewers. The bear-pit at the Zoological Gardens is flooded, while many of the streets leading to the Seine :yc submerged. Parliament has been asked to vote £SO,OOO for the relief of the victims. The Rhone has risen IS feet. Disasters are reported from many ol the provincial districts.
