GERMAN EXCLUSION FROM THE MINJLUUM KATE. AMERICA DEMANDS REMOVAL OF MEAT DUTIES. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Berlin, January 19. The repeal of the meat exclusion laws is described as the irreducible minimum of the American demands under the new tariff which Germany and America are fighting over. The tariff becomes effective on April Ist. There is not Hie slightest sign at present of a settlement. The Times' Washington correspondent in mentioning Britain and the minimum tariff makes no mention of the British colonies.
GERMANY'S ATTITUDE. Received January 20, 10.35 p.m. Berlin, January 20. It is announced at Berlin that Germany's general tariff will be automatically enforced against the United States on the 7th February, owing to inability to continue to apply the conventional tariff. One hundred and twenty*scven articles are enumerated in the vivendi. AUSTRALASIA NOT FAVORED. Received January 21, 12.10 a.m. London, January 20. The Colonial Office is without information respecting the American minimum tariff, but special inquiries made in Nov,' York show thatkAus'tralia is not admitted. »'*
