AMUSEMENTS.
HEWITT'S PICTURES. Hewitt's Pictures were witnessed by an enthusiastic audience last evening. The enjoyment of the entertainment was enhanced by the excellent pianoforte music provided by the company's pianist. To-night there will be an entire change of programme. The "star" picture is a dramatic film, entitled "Joan of Arc." The subject is very interesting, taking the audience right through the extraordinary career of this remarkable 'lady warrior'. "The Children of the Plains" is another beautiful dramatic picture, full of sensational and emotional acting . "For Honor's Sake" is also nil excellent subject. Among the scenic views is a splendid picture fcntitled "Life on the Zambesi River," while "Tho International Baloon Contest. H'lVi." is another entertaining subject. Included in the humorous pictures are "Patent nine," "The Clown's Xnn'.s Eve." "Hew the bulldog paid the rent," and "A cheap entertainment." The pr.v gnuiii'ie should please the most, fastidious and attract a large attendance.
