Bible class union. By Telegraph.—Press Association. t Ashburton, Last Night. ' _ e Zealand Presbyterian Bible • Class Union annual summer conference opened here yesterday, and will continue till 3rd January, There are 460 registered members, 250 of thes'e being from outside the borders of the Ashburton county and representatives of the whole Dominion from beyond Auckland to Invereargill, including a large contingent from Christcliurch and Dun®e»e are camped at Borough and High Schools, men and women respectively. The conference was formally opened by a largely-attended meeting at the Oddfellows' Hall last night when the members wore welcomed by the Mayor on behalf of the town, anil by the Rev. o. B. Inglis on lwhalf 0 t the Ashbnrton Church, and the Rev. John Mackenzie, president of the conference, delivered an inaugural address 1 . Meetings will be held everv morning and evening, and recreation will lie radioed in in the afternoon. Those participating include the Rev. Drs. Gibb and Dunlop. Revs. A. Porter, ,T. C. .Tamieson, ft. Jnpp and Axelson. Keen interest is being , manifested in the proceedings, and the success of the conference is assured.
