OPUNAKE CALEDONIAN SPORTS
The annual sports in connection with the Opunake Caledonian Society were held in the Recreation Ground on Monday, 27th December. The weather, which was very threatening in the early part of the morning, cleared up beautifully, with the result that there was a very good attendance, the sum of £3O being taken at the gate. The various events were well contested, and in most cases the finishes were close, showing that the handicapper, Mr. J. O'Dea, knew his work. The officials all worked well, the events being got off up to time. Mr. Donald Ross, secretary, as usual, had all his arrangements well in hand, so that everything worked smoothly.
