EFFECT IN WAIROA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wairoa, Tuesday. Terrific gales and rain storms spoiled the holidays. The wind blew with hurricane force. Trees were uprooted and fences buckled, and tons of fruit destroyed. The rivers are in high flood. It was the Avorst weather for twentyfive years. A dead horse, saddled and bridled, came down the river, but 110 one is reported missing so far. The losses of stock are not so heavy as anticipated.
