The prizes forltie* interstate fours arc £25, a shield and five gold medals. It waa explained that Tasmania had previously guaranteed £4O towards the expenses of a N«w Zealand crew. The council decided .to. aiaka np the balance required. If th* council is satisfied that the best crowwins the championship at the regatta at Tictoii nrxi montß, that crew will sent to Tasmania. The Canterbury A»socittion asked whether B. HoWa-,!. who had competed with a lifeboat ere"-, was still entitled to row as an amateur. It was decided that he fs. J, M. Jackson was suspended for violating amateur status.
